Camera: iPhone Location: San Francisco Timeframe: January 2013 – June 2013
This photo series came about during a moment in my life when things felt tenuous. I was holding down temp jobs, applying to graduate school and suddenly months later, planning to move across the country for a new beginning. As a photographer, I found myself capturing transitory moments played across the cityscape in my day-to-day walks.
By using an iPhone, I was able to quickly compose photos in the short timeframe I had between jobs and on breaks. I could also post them immediately to photo sharing sites for feedback. The resulting images are tight geometric compositions focused on design elements of the cityscape, and the temporary play of light and shadow on buildings and sky.
