Feeling super excited about my Instacollage idea, especially now that I have a basic sketch up and running.

The collage permutations that are generated are endless (and beautiful!)

The fun factor with this idea is not knowing what you are going to get every time a new collage is generated.

The results remind me of all the lovely things I tried to do as a film photographer when I created double exposures in camera.

The sketch creates new collages from Instagram images stored in a folder in the sketch (pulled from my feed!)

Now I need to wrap my head around the Instagram API next and pull in images from Instagram instead.

I also want to play around with having random collage effects generated as well when the mouse is pressed – so it’s not always the same visual mashup.

Uttam helped me troubleshoot my sketch so that whenever the user presses the mouse, a new collage is generated.

I was on the right track, as far as figuring out on my own that I needed to create a boolean button, and have void mousePressed() create a new collage instance.

But, I was having trouble figuring out how to move my code around to make that happen. I learned a lot working with Uttam to debug my sketch and re-write it to incorporate void mousePressed()!

Tonight I started thinking of taglines for Instacollage (wordplay makes everything better.) So far I have “collage for the masses,” “collage is for everyone,” and “instant collage, in an instant.” I like the redundancy of the last tagline.
Ultimately though, Processing is awesome! The End.
